Stitch and Blether is back!: Why not come and join us for some conversation and crafting over a cuppa? We meet on the first and third Friday of each month (10-12) in The Room Downstairs. We would love to see you!

Harvest Sunday, 4 October: Dear church, we plan, as usual, to decorate the church for our Harvest Sunday which will be on 4 October. It would be wonderful if you could bring donations, and harvested fruit and vegetables, either on the Sunday itself, or on the Saturday. We will be decorating the church on Saturday morning 3 October from 11am. If you would like to be involved please come along and/or speak to one of the Micah team. We plan to also ask for donations for Storehouse foodbank and nearer the time we will notify you all about what they need. Thank you from the Micah team.

Tea & Coffee Rota: We all love to have a coffee, a cup of tea or even a hot chocolate with new/old friends after the morning or evening services and we are looking for new volunteers to continue this ministry. We particularly need people to join the evening rota. So, if interested, please contact Barbara or David Maggs (tea@standrewsbaptist.org.uk). Thank you.

Student Mission & Evangelism Training: Students (and anyone else interested) are kindly invited to a Mission & Evangelism Training Session this Wednesday 7 October 2026 at 6:30pm in the church. This training will be run by Fusion Scotland (www.fusionmovement.org/scotland) Tea/coffee and biscuits will be served.

Benjy Wang will be stepping down from his role as Church Treasurer at our ACM in November. We are very grateful for the time, care, and service he has given in this role. As we look ahead, please be in prayer for the church and for the right person to take on this important responsibility. If you feel that you might be called or able to serve as Treasurer, or would simply like to know more about what the role involves, please speak to a member of the Leadership Team or Trustees.

Over the years members of the congregation have volunteered to serve as trustees of Families First. The decision on appointment is made by the Board of Families First, but they are always happy to look at names we put forward. Currently, Jane Holmes is the only trustee directly linked to the church, so we are keen to provide additional names if possible. If you feel this role might be for you please speak to Jane or any previous, recent trustees which includes Ian Smith, Tony Jeavons, Barbara Maggs or David Harrison, to find out more.

Baptist Union of Scotland: An invitation to online prayer gatherings ahead of the announcement of the next General Director of the BUS at the Autumn Gathering on Saturday 14 November. The next meeting is Tuesday 27 October (8-8.30pm).

The Scottish Baptist College has launched an exciting new initiative – Lay Training Award (LTA). LTA is a series of 6 short courses, each 6 weeks long, covering the 6 basic areas of local church life – pastoral care, preaching, biblical interpretation, worship, mission, and leadership. When: online on Tuesday evenings between 7:30-9pm over the course of 2 years. Cost: £100 per short course – discounts if you do all 6. You can join for one or two of the short courses – that’s no problem. If starting in October is too soon, you can join in early 2027! There’s no assessment! You can find out more information on their website or contact Graham Meiklejohn (graham.meiklejohn@sbc.uws.ac.uk).
