Transport Ministry: If you are struggling to get to church, or to healthcare appointments, email transport@standrewsbaptist.org.uk or leave a message on 07388 616629. The coordinator will get in touch with you, and we will do our best to help you where we can.
At the Extraordinary Church Meeting on Wednesday 20 August, it was agreed to extend Clayton Mills’ role to fulltime, and to style that role as Ministry Coordinator. Planning for support for families and young people is ongoing. The key take-home message, voiced by Lindsay Glasgow, is “God’s work done in God’s way will not lack God’s supply”. Please pray.
“The Room Downstairs Café”: If you are in town on Friday or Saturday (5 and 6 September) then why not drop in to our church café in The Room Downstairs? We will be open from 10-12 and would love to see you for a cuppa and a chat. It’s a great place to bring your friends and the drinks are free!
Farmers Market Café: The next Farmers Market Café will be on Saturday 6 September in The Room Downstairs from 10am. See you there!
Find out more about being a deacon: The Church Annual Meeting includes election, or re-election, of deacons who serve in many practical ways, often behind the scenes. If you want to know more about what is involved and consider whether this an area of service for you, please speak to David Harrison or any other deacon to find out more.
Save the date! We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting an church picnic lunch on Sunday 14 September 12:00-2pm. More details will follow, but in the meantime, please put the date in your diary and be prepared to come along with sandwiches/refreshments for yourself and extra to share. This date coincides with the end of Freshers’ Week 2025 so it will be an ideal time to welcome students to our church and town. Please also pray for the sun to shine! For further information contact Margaret Sutherland (margaret@standrewsbaptist.org.uk) or Tamara Knudson (tamara@standrewsbaptist.org.uk).
Are you excited about the year ahead? Are you looking forward to our ministries starting up again? We are too! Keep your eyes peeled for further information about a week of focused prayer 8-14 September – Talking with God about the year ahead!
Pilgrim Care – can you help, please? We are looking for one or two volunteers to help at Pilgrim Care lunches at Holy Trinity Church Halls on Tuesday 23 and Friday 26 September, from about 11am-3pm on each day. Duties are to assist Luisa and Rona by serving soup and clearing up, and of course to chat to attendees. Details from Celia Sprot at celiasprot@hotmail.co.uk . Thank you.

The Families First Board of Trustees and team would like to invite you to their 24th Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 30 September 2025 at 7pm in St Marks. Their AGM is a great opportunity to help them celebrate their achievements over the past 12 months and to find out what Families First has been getting up to. PRAYER ITEMS FOR AUGUST:
Today: Give thanks to God for all those who have recently come to faith through the various ministries that have taken place during this summer. Pray that they may find a fertile soil (such as a church, a home-group, etc) where they can be nurtured and grow spiritually.
Monday: Pray for the individuals, couples, and families that have moved away, as they settle in their new environment and that the Lord may provide a church family for them where they can serve and be ministered to.
Tuesday: Pray for the summer Holiday Club held here in St Andrews by churches, and for the return of pupils and teachers to school this month.
Wednesday: Pray for our mission partners – those who are working locally and abroad. Pray for their good health and effective, fruitful ministries in all they do and seek to do.
Thursday: Pray for the leaders of the nations who are seeking to mediate for peaceful resolutions in various countries and regions worn out by conflicts, wars and famine. Pray for peace and justice for the victims of these conflicts and wars.
Friday: Pray for those who have been recently bereaved, that the Lord of all comfort will continue to comfort them in all their sorrows, so that they may comfort those in any trouble with the comfort they themselves are receiving from him.
Saturday: As we join Jesus in His mission, pray for the people to whom we are led to reach out to, that their arguments and every pretention that sets itself up against the knowledge of God may be demolished and that every thought be taken captive and be made obedient to Christ.
The morning service starts at 10am, in-person and online, and includes crèche and Beacons Kids’ provision. The evening service starts at 6:30pm.
Items for the bulletin: Items for the bulletin should be emailed to bulletin@standrewsbaptist.org.uk (or leave a message on the church answer machine, 01334 472285) (by Wednesday 6pm)
