From the Micah team: Christian Aid’s response to the recent UK Govt announcement to reduce overseas aid is available through this link (https://tinyurl.com/ymsxu546) and for those who wish to get involved there is a call to action to sign a petition. Thank you.
Christian Aid Week 2025: 11-17 May Many of you will already be aware of Christian Aid and the incredible work they do across the world. Did you also know that each year in May, a door-to-door collection is carried out in support of Christian Aid week. In St Andrews all the churches work together in this door-to-door collection. Last year a grand total of £8,900 was raised of which the Baptist Church collectors raised £714 (£415 of which was gift aided too).
This year’s Christian Aid week is seeking to raise funds to help support farmers with vital tools and training so communities can fight the effects of the climate crisis. Could you help by walking along a couple of streets delivering and collecting the envelopes? If so, please speak to Caroline or Mark Rochford who are the church’s new representatives. Thank you.
PRAYER ITEMS FOR MARCH:
Sunday: Give thanks to God for everything He has been doing in, among, for, to, and through us over the last month.
Monday: Give thanks to the Lord for the CU Events Week and pray for those who were exposed to the Gospel and those who are still searching; ask that they may have an encounter with God.
Tuesday: Give thanks for the Lord for our church children and families ministries and the similar ministries we have in partnership with Young Life. Pray for their leaders and the growth of these ministries.
Wednesday: Give thanks for the vision of Outreach Project 2035+ and pray for the Spirit to continue to lead us as we seek to implement it.
Thursday: Give thanks for this year of “Joining Jesus in His mission” and pray that we may not only be hearers of God’s word, but also doers of it.
Friday: Give thanks for other various existing outreach, discipleship and pastoral care ministries like the Farmers’ market, the Alpha course, Hope @ the Hub, Balnacarron, International gathering with In Hwa and Jae Ha, Awake, Home groups, etc.
Saturday: Give thanks for the amazing diversity among us; nationality, gifts, experiences, backgrounds, languages, tongues, etc. And pray for the continued reign of Christ our King in our minds and that we may yearn for many to worship Him.
