Transport Ministry: If you are struggling to get to church, or to healthcare appointments, email transport@standrewsbaptist.org.uk or leave a message on 07388 616629. The coordinator will get in touch with you, and we will do our best to help you where we can.
Stitch and Blether is back!: Why not come and join us for some conversation and crafting over a cuppa? We meet on the first and third Friday of each month (10-12) in The Room Downstairs. Our next meeting will be on Friday 4 September. We would love to see you!
Farmer’s Market Café: Don’t forget to pop in to the cafe in The Room Downstairs on Saturday 5 September. We will be open 10am-1pm serving free tea/coffee. It’s a great opportunity to catch up with friends, meet new people or to just have a wee sit down on a busy Saturday morning!
We are pleased to welcome Emily Blair, who will begin as our Children, Youth, and Families Worker on Tuesday 1 September 2026, God willing. We are very grateful for everyone’s prayers, patience, and support throughout the appointment process. Please continue to pray for Emily and for the church as she begins this new role. Emily’s post is funded through the financial pledges made earlier this year, so if you pledged towards the role, please make sure your giving begins from September. If you have not yet set up a standing order, please arrange this now using the church bank details on the website, with the reference “CYF Worker” or something similar. If you cannot remember the amount you pledged, need to change your pledge, or have any other questions about giving, please contact Benjy at treasurer@standrewsbaptist.org.uk.
Student Welcome is coming!: We are looking forward to welcoming both new and returning students as the new academic year begins.
On Sunday 6 September, we will be offering a soup and rolls lunch after the morning service for anyone who would like to stay. It will be a great chance to meet new people, catch up after the summer, and help give students a warm welcome into the life of the church.
On Sunday 13 September, there will be a student BBQ at the Knudsons’ after the morning service. This will be a relaxed opportunity for students to spend time together, meet others, and get connected as the new year gets underway.
Then, on Sunday 20 September, we will have an all-church picnic at Craigtoun Park after the morning service. Everyone is welcome! If you are able, please bring some snacks or food to share.
We have also rented the Marquee at Craigtoun Park, so there will be plenty of dry space available if the weather does not cooperate.
We hope these Sundays will be a really good way to welcome students, reconnect as a church family, and begin the new year together.
Benjy Wang will be stepping down from his role as Church Treasurer at our ACM in November. We are very grateful for the time, care, and service he has given in this role.
As we look ahead, please be in prayer for the church and for the right person to take on this important responsibility. If you feel that you might be called or able to serve as Treasurer, or would simply like to know more about what the role involves, please speak to a member of the Leadership Team or Trustees.
Baptist Union of Scotland: An invitation to three online prayer gatherings ahead of the announcement of the next General Director of the BUS at the Autumn Gathering on Saturday 14 November. The meetings are:
Tuesday 1 September (8-8.30pm)
Tuesday 29 September (8-8.30pm)
Tuesday 27 October (8-8.30pm)
