Postgrad & Young adults: restarting on 19/01/23 & meeting at 18:30 at the Rowe’s.

Awake Undergraduate Gathering: Awake is off this week due to the CU events week. We’ll look forward to resuming our study on the Psalms next Thursday, 9 February.

Stitch & Blether: 10AM-12NOON in the Fellowship Room. All welcome to share in fellowship, tea, coffee, cakes & crafts.

St Andrews Churches Eco Network (STACEN) has a stall at St Mark’s Eco Fair, Saturday 4th February 1-4PM. Browse stalls from a dozen local groups  aiming to help us tread the Earth more lightly: buy Fairtrade goods, build a birdbox, repair an item, participate in the Active Way local travel consultation, perhaps garden a little differently in 2023. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

Soup Bowl Fridays! A free soup lunch & warm space for all ages has been set up in St Mark’s Church. Everyone is welcome on Fridays 11:30AM-2PM. Come along with others to chat, eat, bring a book, game or craft if you want! This initiative has been set up by the 3 Church of Scotland congregations in the town and is open to all.

The Christian Union is holding its Events Week 28/01 to 3/02 & their theme is ‘Tomorrow’. This years theme will confront ideas of how the world is broken & where we wish we could make changes for a better tomorrow.

Monday 30/01 (Equality): Free lunch & talk, Mark Drama in the evening

Tuesday 31/01 (Suffering): Free lunch & talk, evening talk from Gospel of Mark

Wednesday 1/02 (Justice): Free lunch & talk, evening talk from Gospel of Mark

Thursday 2/02 (Hope): Free lunch & talk, evening talk from Gospel of Mark

Friday 3/02: First follow up session by doing the first study of Uncover Mark.

There will also be 3 dinners aimed at international students, as an ‘events week special’ of international cafe which we run normally. Alongside the evening talks there will be a gin & jazz night one night, a poetry & art night, & a dessert night. Please pray for the events during the CU’s busiest time of the year! Please pray for the speakers as they travel & speak, for the events coordinator as she coordinates logistics etc of the week, & be praying that many people would hear about Jesus! 

Energy bill discount: Over the winter many of us will receive a discount from the government to our energy bills. Some of us will need this help, & should accept it gratefully. Others may be able to afford the increased bills. In order to support those in our community facing hardship this winter, the church leadership would like to encourage those who do not need the discount to donate this amount to the Hardship Fund. If you feel called to support this ministry then please make a designated offering by the Offering Box or bank transfer, or speak to Matt ( 


Today: Pray for the Preaching ministry & preaching team of our church that the Lord may speak to us every time we gather to worship Him.

Monday: Pray for the Church leadership (elders, deacons, and staff) for vision & continued guidance.

Tuesday:Pray for our Mission partners.

Wednesday: Pray that we may see conversions, Baptisms, & Effective Discipleship among us.

Thursday: Pray for Pastoral Care & the pastoral care team for timely care, grace, strength, comfort & healing for those facing various struggles.

Friday: Pray for issues related to Social justice, climate change & creation care.

Saturday: Pray for our Local community, in particular this month, for Pilgrim Care & FFSA.

The morning service starts at 10:00, in-person & online, & includes creche & Beacons Kids’ provision. The evening service starts at 18:30.
