Weekly Bulletin – 28 January 2024

A warm welcome to all who are worshipping with us this Sunday—whether you are with us in person, online or joining us over the telephone!
For Sunday service information, see below. You can access our services through our website (; for access, see details at the bottom of this bulletin)

this week is a pulpit swap and Jim Cronin of Vineyard will be preaching on “Seek first the kingdom of God” based on Matthew 6:19-34. This is also a Communion Service. If you are joining us online, please have your wine/juice and bread ready.
There will be a Special Collection during the Communion Service which be given to Pilgrim Care St Andrews Parish Nursing Project. Pilgrim Care St Andrews Parish Nurse serves the elderly of St Andrews and District. This ministry is conducted in cooperation with Parish Nursing Ministries(UK), a national charity. Based in the local church community, parish nurses support people towards whole person healthcare. Whether it’s simply giving moral support during a medical crisis – giving general health advice – “signposting” people to various support or medical services – praying for people – clarifying medical procedures or issues, etc – or simply listening (which they do an awful lot of!) – they focus on the person, rather than just a specific medical condition.
6:30pm: Abi Ngunga will be preaching on “More of His grace” based on Hebrews 4:14-16.
6-30-8pm: Rooted (P7–S2) and Impact (S3–S6) Youth Groups. Parents email or for details and to sign up!

WANTED – Spare Garden Canes: St Andrews Churches Eco Network has made a successful application to The Woodland Trust for tree saplings sufficient to establish a native species hedgerow against the post-and-wire fence at the woodland end of Western Cemetery. It may become necessary to guard them against damage from rabbits. We have the guards, but if you have any spare canes Rosalind Hine would be glad to hear from you!

Community Eco Fair: Saturday 03/02, 14:00-16:00, St Mark’s Church. With stalls from various local environmental groups and organisations, including St Andrews Churches Eco Network. There will be opportunities to purchase eco-friendly foods and goods, participate in skill-share sewing workshop, make bird boxes, learn more about e-bikes and lots of other advice and information. NEF Community Hub will be there with pre-loved goods, knitting and crafts, along with the Eco Hub and Transition St Andrews. St Mark’s will be raising money for Mwandi Mission Hospital in Zambia through well-stocked book, jewellery, white elephant and golf stalls. So, remember to bring some cash! There will also be a quiet space for prayer and reflection. Please spread the word, bring your friends and help to make it a great community event!

Can you spare 2 hours a fortnight (or more!)? Enjoy arts, crafts, walks on the beach and having fun? Families First are looking for new volunteers (18+) to support local children and families with additional support needs, and they’d love you to join their happy team! Find out more at their training day on Saturday 3 February 10am-4pm. Contact for more details.

Sunday: Give thanks to God for all His goodness to us throughout 2023.
Pray that the eyes of those who suffer spiritual blindness may be opened so that they may turn from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God.
Tuesday: Pray for God’s Word to dwell in us richly as we teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as we sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in our hearts to God.
Wednesday: Pray for those who preach, that God may open a door for their God-given message and that they proclaim the mystery of Christ not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction.
Thursday: Pray that each one of us in the church may not be wise in our own eyes, but that we may fear the Lord and shun evil.
Pray that each one of us in the church may trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding. Pray that in all our ways we may acknowledge Him.
Saturday: Pray that we may each be hungry for God’s Word and that we may each grow in and by it.
