Transport Ministry: If you are struggling to get to church, or to healthcare appointments, email transport@standrewsbaptist.org.uk or leave a message on 07388 616629. The coordinator will get in touch with you, and we will do our best to help you where we can.
Morar Home Services: We have a wonderful opportunity to run monthly services at Morar Home. They started on Wednesday 17 December. If you are free on the third Wednesday of the month at 2:30pm for an hour or so after lunch, we would love to hear from you! For more information please see Philippa Cook (philippa@standrewsbaptist.org.uk)
Romanian Summer Camp, 5-12 July 2026: We are looking for volunteers who would like to go with a group from our church, to help Mihai and our American mission partners (International Sports Federation) run a children’s activity camp in Romania, next summer. This is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in short-term mission work. No previous experience required just enthusiasm and a desire to help children have fun and hear about Jesus. For more information please speak to or email Philippa and Peter Cook (philippa@standrewsbaptist.org.uk).
Pastoral Visiting: As a church family we are the body of Christ in this place and we seek to support and care for each other: body, mind, and spirit. One of the ways we seek to do this is through our team of pastoral visitors. Each pastoral visitor is allocated a list of people who have opted to be part of our fellowship. The pastoral visitor takes particular responsibility to ‘look out for’ those people on their list. They will regularly pray for you, offer to visit you or meet up with you from time to time, and may be contacted in times of need. If you do not know who is your pastoral visitor, please speak to Jane Harrison or email pastoralcare@standrewsbaptist.org.uk. You may also contact Pastor Abi directly. Pastoral visitors receive relevant training and confidentiality is respected. The pastoral visitors are: Pastor Abi Ngunga and Jane Harrison (team leaders), Dave Angus, Philippa Cook, Ian Docherty, David Jackson, Careen Lindsay, Louise Miller, Norma Milne, Diane Palmer, Celia Sprot, Tricia Tooman. You will also find pastoral support through participation in home groups, prayer meetings, and other church family activities. “…so we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well”. (1 Thessalonians 2:7)
PRAYER ITEMS FOR DECEMBER:
Today: Give thanks to the Lord for the continued privilege for us to worship Him freely. Pray that we may not only be hearers of His Word, but doers of it.
Monday: Give thanks to the Lord for this Season of Advent and the end of the year. Pray for patience and peace for all those who are waiting for something.
Tuesday: Give thanks to God the Father for sending us His Son Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Pray for true justice, peace, healing, restoration and reconciliation for those in need of any of these in our world today.
Wednesday: Give thanks to the Lord for all the leaders in our church. Pray for the Holy Spirit’s empowerment, guidance and discernment, as they seek to lead faithfully by serving.
Thursday: Give thanks to the Lord for all those who have served in our midst and who are now in transition to settle elsewhere. Pray that they may settle smoothly, quickly and effectively.
Friday: Give thanks to the Lord for the privilege of bringing everything to Him in prayer. Pray for all those who find it difficult to go through the Christmas season.
