We have an opportunity this summer of partnering with Mihai in Romania and our friends at ISF (International Sports Federation) to help run a children’s multi-sport camp, with opportunities for bible teaching. We anticipate there being between 100-125 children from Calarasi. The dates are 22nd-30th June. No specific sporting skills are required just enthusiasm and a desire to introduce children to Jesus. If you are interested in helping, please contact Peter or Philippa Cook in person or via email.

Staff annual leave: Abi will be on leave Monday 27 May to Tuesday 11 June 2024 inclusive.

Volunteers Needed: Pilgrim Care is looking for volunteers to help serve light lunches to their elderly groups on Wednesdays and Mondays. If you enjoy making soup and baking -even better! The groups are very friendly and grateful to meet for lunch and banter. After the meal, volunteers wash up and put away. For further information please contact Celia Sprot.

There will be a second exhibition and sale of original glasswork by Tony Jeavons on Saturday 1st June 10am-4pm in the Fellowship Room. There will be a variety of new work on display with something for everyone. Entrance is free. Do come along and bring your friends to help to raise money for Families First

Thank you to everyone who supported the Families First Spring Coffee Morning. You will be pleased to hear that £567.80 was raised. The “Friends of Families First” team are already planning their Autumn Coffee Morning (Sat 5/10, 10-12). Please keep the date. They hope to include a Craft Stall with handmade children’s items (hats/mittens/gloves/scarves/ cardigans/jumpers/blankets). You might have wool/other materials left over from previous crafting projects that could be re-purposed. They are all hoping that this early warning will result in lots of donations to their Craft Stall. You can discuss this with Jane Holmes after the service on Sunday, downstairs during coffee.

PRAYER ITEMS FOR MAY:
Sunday: Give thanks to God who is always at work and pray that, by His Spirit, He may continue to work in us, through us, and in spite of us for both the building up of His kingdom and for His glory.
Monday: Whether in your own life or in the life and witness of our church fellowship, ask the Lord to help us to look back and thank God. Look forward and trust God. Look around and serve God. Look up and seek God.
Tuesday: Pray for those in any sort of transition. Ask God for guidance and abiding presence as people work through some of the unknown or unwanted paths.
Wednesday: Pray that God continues to give us hearts that are open and not hardened to His Word.
Thursday: Pray for sufficient grace, peace and healing for those diagnosed with illness and those waiting for a hospital appointment.
Friday: Give thanks to God with K2, for doors continuing to open into schools and for recent curriculum sessions in the schools. And please pray for the door to open at Bell Baxter HS. Also ask God to reveal who He is to the children experiencing Bible Alive this term.
Saturday: Pray for our nation and the nations of the world. May God’s kingdom come, and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
