THE SANCTUARY COURSE is designed to raise awareness & open up conversations in local churches regarding mental health. It looks at psychological, social, & theological aspects through film, art & discussion. In keeping with our vision priorities, we plan to run this 8 week course on Wednesday afternoons this summer, commencing 1st June. If you would like to attend, or wish more information, please speak to Jane Harrison or Fiona Barnard. (Initial numbers will be limited).
Return of Kilombero Rice!: Following a break over lockdown, Fair Trade products are returning to SABC! In the next few weeks a small Fair Trade corner will pop up in the fellowship room, with Kilombero rice being the main focus. If you remember, one sack of rice (which is 90 packs) pays for a child to be educated at secondary school in Malawi for 1 year. And it’s delicious high quality rice too. As a church we have completed the rice challenge 3 times! To buy anything, please help yourself & put payment into the church offering (cash or card). Prices will be displayed, but the rice has had to go up in price to £3.50. If you don’t have card or cash on you, just put it in next week.
If you have registered as a potential sponsor for a Ukrainian refugee, or wish to help refugees accommodated locally in other practical ways (e.g. befriending, help with English) please let Jane Harrison know, or email email@example.com. Thank you.
Christian Summer Camp: Romania: This summer, as in previous summers, Mihai hopes to take a group of teenagers (some not in any church) for a 4 day Christian camp. Each place costs £45, for everything. Many of the children live in difficult circumstances & this is a wonderful way to witness to them. Mihai does follow up classes /sports etc for all the children. If you feel you can help towards sending as many children as possible, please contact Matthew (our treasurer), or myself. Thank you very much. Allyson McGregor
