Student Accommodation Requests: During the summer we often receive requests from students regarding accommodation. If you are aware of any available flats or receive an accommodation request, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Cleaner needed: if you or anybody you know would be willing to undertake cleaning duties at the church (paid post, approx. 6 hours per week), please get in touch with David Maggs (email@example.com)
Christian Summer Camp, Romania: Mihai hopes to enable as many teenagers as possible to go to a four-day camp again this July. Many of the children live in difficult circumstances, (some do not attend any church), and this is a wonderful way to witness to them. Mihai knows all the children and will follow-up, through sports/Christian meetings. If you wish to support a child, the cost this year is £65. Please contact Matthew Thornton (working remotely) firstname.lastname@example.org marking donations ‘Mihai, Camp’. Thank you.
Copies of the new Families First Newsletter are now available in the church (and you can find them on Facebook!)
Date for your diary: The Pilgrim Care AGM this year will be on the evening of Thursday 9th November at the St David’s Centre/Hub.
Transport Ministry: It is sometimes difficult to get to health care appointments, and this can bring added stress when facing health concerns. Help may be found within the church family – did you know that we have a list of drivers who are willing to be asked to help out? So, if you are anticipating an appointment and are unsure how to get there, we may be able to help you. Contact the coordinator through email@example.com. If you are a driver who is willing to be contacted by the coordinator (without obligation), please speak to Jane Harrison or email firstname.lastname@example.org. **Please note that this is not a taxi service, nor an ambulance service, but simply a way of helping to match those in need with church friends and family who may be able to assist with transport**
‘It shouldn’t happen to a Minister!’: Saturday 8 July 2023, 3pm, St Leonard’s Parish Church, Hepburn Gardens, St Andrews. Very Rev Dr Russell Barr is an engaging raconteur. Come along and be entertained by his amusing stories of his experiences and encounters in ministry. Followed by tea and scones. Admission free, with a collection in support of the Church of Scotland appeal for the project of its partner church, National Evangelical Synod of Syria and Lebanon, to rent homes for Syrians still homeless after February’s earthquake.
From the treasurer: If you are a UK tax payer, then giving by Gift Aid allows SABC to claim an additional 25p from HMRC for every £1 you donate. Last year, Gift Aid additional claims made up approximately 15% of StABC’s income. If you are a higher rate taxpayer then you will also be able to reclaim income tax personally on your gift. The process is very easy and you do not have to decide in advance how much you want to give. For more information, please contact Matt email@example.com or speak to a Deacon who can arrange a form for you.
