This Sunday:

10:00: “Single or married: following the Way” based on Mark 10:28-31. Lina Toth will be preaching. This service will include Communion. If you are joining us online, please have your wine/juice and bread ready.

18:30: A joint worship evening with Cornerstone. Paulus de Jong & Xander Cant will be leading this service

Canopy Online (28-29 October): Canopy is a national online gathering for Baptist churches. There is an excellent programme planned for Canopy Online & everyone is welcome to join in. Programme: Friday evening (28/10), national prayer gathering with contributions for people around our Baptist network including our friends from BMS. Saturday morning (29/10): renowned author & Bible teacher Francis Chan opens the scriptures in a special message for Scottish Baptist churches & there will be stories of what God has been doing in some of our churches. After this there will be a choice of seminars on Our Identity in Christ, The Gospel in an Unpredictable World, A Biblical Exploration of Increase, plus a guided meditation. Christian Education…What’s the point? Come & Ask questions & hear the Cowpland’s plans for a Melville-Knox Christian School in Fife. Saturday 29th October 2022, 14:00 in Holy Trinity Halls.

Pilgrim Care (Parish Nursing) AGM will be on Tuesday 22nd November at 19:00 at the St David’s Centre / Community Hub. Speaker: David Harrison. Refreshments provided. All welcome! 

Micah Ministry: Tearfund Scotland’s Climate Champions Course: This looks a really good course & we’re keen to make the most of it. Whilst Tearfund has devised it as an online course for individuals, we’d like to use it Alpha-style, meeting in someone’s home over a meal at 18:15 & then joining the Zoom via the TV screen at 19:30. Session 1: Thursday 27th October, Theology of creation care & justice, with Dr Ruth Valerio, Tearfund Director, theologian & author. Session 2: Thursday 3rd November, What you can do within your church with Less Waste Laura, activist & blogger. Session 3: Thursday 10th November, How to get others in your church onboard, with Rev Ian Wills, Trinity Church of the Nazarene, Perth. If you are interested in joining in with this then do speak to Paulus or any member of the Micah team or email 

In preparation for the Annual Church Meeting on Wednesday 30th November please note the following Deacons are retiring: Ken Cochran, Janet Richardson, Chris Walker. The following Deacons are due for & eligible for re-election: Cameron Bathgate, Jacqueline Mercer. Recently Co-opted Deacons are also eligible for election: Steve Evans, Tony Jeavons. Please send any deacon nominations after seeking agreement from the candidate to Church Secretary by Sunday 13th November 2022. Nomination forms are available at the bottom of the main stair of the church.

Also, please note that the following Elders are due and eligible for re-nomination by the elders & re-election by the church. Tamara Knudson, David Moffitt, Tricia Tooman.

Energy bill discount: Over the winter many of us will receive a discount from the government to our energy bills. Some of us will need this help, & should accept it gratefully. Others may be able to afford the increased bills. In order to support those in our community facing hardship this winter, the church leadership would like to encourage those who do not need the discount to donate this amount to the Hardship Fund. If you feel called to support this ministry then please make a designated offering by the Offering Box or bank transfer, or speak to Matt ( 

Prayers for the week:

Today: Pray that we may have an encounter with the Lord as we worship Him today during both services & take communion at the morning service.

Monday: Give thanks to the Lord for His faithfulness that never fails – great is Thy faithfulness!

Tuesday:Pray for China, especially Christians there, that the Lord continues to strengthen them & use them to continue in their witness for Him.

Wednesday: Praise God for His continued provision for those faithfully serving on the front lines of the war in Ukraine & for those who have encountered Jesus in the past months through the witness of churches in & around Ukraine.

Thursday:Pray that a just peace will come soon to countries torn by wars and/or caught up in conflicts so that they can rebuild their countries.

Friday: Pray for grace & healing of those suffering physical & mental illness in our church & community. Pray for those you know & those you don’t know.

Saturday: Pray for our church leadership (elders, deacons & staff) as they meet today to pray & seek the Lord’s direction for the church as well as discuss various issues.

You will be prompted for a Participant ID; just enter the # key again. When prompted for a password enter 777 followed by the # hash key. You will be connected to the meeting / service. (It is possible you will be given a different Meeting ID by the person arranging the meeting. If so, use the Meeting ID number you are given).

To join in online with video: Go to & follow the instructions given to join Zoom & download the APP(lication).

The morning service starts at 10:00, in-person & online, & includes creche & Beacons Kids’ provision. The evening service starts at 18:30.
