Clayton Rowe has resigned eldership due to other responsibilities. Angus Ross has served 6 years and is eligible for re-election to a further 3 year term. Please note that only elders may nominate individuals as candidates for eldership.
We are very grateful to Ethan and Tamara Knudson for the huge contribution they make to student and young people’s work in and through the church. When they started, they had a goal of organising the ministry so that it would be able to continue mostly with volunteers rather than depend on salaried staff. Tamara has already moved from the staff team to work with Bible Project, and Ethan has now decided to step back from the staff team too, at the end of October. This reflects their success in setting up a robust foundation for the work. We are immensely thankful that both Tamara and Ethan will continue to lead Awake for the upcoming year: Awake has made an excellent start. Ethan and Tamara will also lead Rooted for the remainder of the year, providing input into wider young people’s work. Please pray with thanksgiving for Tamara’s and Ethan’s service and pray too for guidance as they discern God’s will for their future.
Romania: Clothes and Items: There will be one final shipment of items to Mihai’s charity. Allyson has items stored from earlier this year and if anyone has good quality and clean, unstained items which they would like to send with the last shipment please deliver them to the car port, 29 Irvine Cres by the end of Oct. and they will be included. Thank you to everyone, including extended family and friendship groups who have been so faithful in giving over the years.
Families First Autumn Coffee Morning: Saturday 28 October 10–12 noon in the Fellowship Room. Donations of baking may be brought to the Fellowship Room from 8am on the day. Please include a label with a list of all the ingredients.
“For the beauty of the earth, for the beauty of the skies”: this is the season when we particularly give thanks for creation and all good things around us! To celebrate, the St Andrews Churches Eco Network (STACEN) invites you to send them your photos of nature in all its glory at this time of year! They can be snapshots taken on your phone of anything which has inspired you or lifted your spirit! Please email Lorna Hutcheon: lhutcheon@sky.com with contributions which will then be posted anonymously onto our St Andrews Churches Eco Network Facebook page. Children’s contributions, or photos which children have helped with, are welcome to be sent via parents’ email, adding a caption and child’s age if you wish. They look forward to receiving your pictures and hope you enjoy getting out and about to take them!
