Weekly Bulletin – 22 June 2025

A warm welcome to all who are worshipping with us this Sunday—whether you are with us in person or online.
For Sunday service information, see below. You can access our services through our website (www.standrewsbaptist.org.uk)

This Sunday:
10am: Clay Rowe will be preaching on “The missional church”, based on Acts 2:42-47. This service will include Communion. If you are joining us online, please have your juice/wine and bread ready.
The Special Offering during the Communion service on Sunday 22 June 2025 will support Mihai in his ministry, “Hope for Tomorrow’s Generation”. Many children are unable to afford basic school essentials, like books and stationery, and so Mihai and Adriana put together school bag parcels to help children, as they start school in the new term.
6:30pm: Janice Ross will be preaching on “Gardening: tending in the absence of fruit”, based on Luke 13:6-9.
Rooted (P7–S2) and Impact (S3–S6) Youth Groups: 6:30-8pm every Sunday. For details or to sign up, parents email rooted@standrewsbaptist.org.uk or impact@cornerstonestandrews.org

Younger siblings can be accommodated.

Every summer the churches in St Andrews come together to hold a Holiday Club. This is always a lot of fun involving bible stories, songs, games, crafts and challenges. This year’s holiday club will run in the mornings from Tuesday 12th until Friday 15th August. If you would be interested in volunteering or would like more information please speak to Jenny or email jenny@standrewsbaptist.org.uk.

Christian Aid week 2025: A huge thank you to all the volunteers who helped with the door-to-door collection for Christian Aid week last month. The total isn’t yet finalised and, while it is expected to be slightly less than last year, at the last count it was in excess of £7,000. Our church collectors helped to raise this wonderful sum, so a huge thank you to everyone who helped make this happen.

For young adults: Some of you have been a part of the postgrad group at church that’s now wrapped up, but there are a number of us hoping and planning to continue to meet together as a community and as a new group. We hope to have food, socials, bible study, worship and prayer, and do life together.
To that end, there’s been some chat of doing some social things over the course of the summer to get some momentum going, with a view of starting to meet more regularly as the school term begins again in August. For now, we thought it might be fun to just have a hangout.
So: Wednesday 2 July at the Wangs’ House: 12 Kirk Brae, Ceres. Eating around 1830 but doors open from 1730. Food etc all already accounted for, so bring yourself and come have a good time. No agenda, just time and chat and fun.
Get in touch with the Mills or the Wangs if you might be interested or would like a lift to/from Ceres.

PRAYER ITEMS FOR JUNE:
Sunday: Give thanks to the Lord for the privilege we have to worship Him openly and freely. Pray that we may be not only hearers, but doers of His Word.
Monday:
Give thanks to the Lord and pray for the ministry to young children and families in our church.
Tuesday: Pick one surrounding village/town where you live and pray for it and the people who live in it.
Wednesday: Think of five people who do not yet know the Lord and pray for them, they may have a life-changing encounter with the Lord.
Thursday: Think of one nation in this world where Christians are under persecution, and pray for those Christians and the leaders of that nation.
Friday: Pray for peace and justice in the world, especially in countries torn apart by wars and conflicts.
Saturday: Give thanks to the Lord and pray for the leadership of our church, as the Spirit leads you.
