6:30PM, Joint Worship Service, led by Paul Grinyer.

6:30–8PM, Rooted & Impact Youth Groups. Rooted is off this Sunday (19 Feb) for the school holiday. Note: Impact is still on & will take next week off instead (26 Feb)

We will have a special in-service offering for the humanitarian crisis in Turkey/Syria. We will donate our collection through the BMS

10AM,Prayer: coming to the place of a song to God”, based on Psalm 18. Paulus de Jong will be preaching. This service will include Communion.

6:30PM,God at work in the world”. Abi Ngunga will be preaching.

Notices:

Soup Bowl Fridays! A free soup lunch & warm space for all ages has been set up in St Mark’s Church. Everyone is welcome on Fridays 11:30-2PM. Come along with others to chat, eat, bring a book, game or craft if you want! This initiative has been set up by the 3 Church of Scotland congregations in the town and is open to all.

Sanctuary Mental Health Course: We hope to run this course again in early spring. If you would like to participate, or have any questions about it, please speak to Jane Harrison, or email jane@standrewsbaptist.org.uk 

Devotional Group Study, 9:15–2:30PM Tuesday 21/02: Ethan will be hosting structured group study two Tuesdays this month in the Fellowship Room with the goal of bringing community, devotion, & prayer together into our work. Each day will have two sessions, consisting of prayer & goal-setting followed by focused work/break intervals. Open to all undergrads & postgrads, feel free to invite friends! Tea & coffee provided, please bring your own lunch. Session 1 is 09:15–11:45AM, Session 2 is 11:45–2:30PM, sign up for one or both sessions by emailing ethan@standrewsbaptist.org.uk

Awake Retreat Monday 27 Feb—Wednesday 1 Mar: Join us for our Awake retreat Monday–Wednesday of the Uni February Break, all undergrads welcome! Abi will be teaching on the topic Relearning Lost Spiritual Disciplines. It will be a great chance to grow, get connected, & be refreshed. £50 registration fee covers food, transport, & lodging at the Windmill Centre in Arbroath. Sign up on our website under the “Connect” tab!

The Church of Scotland guilds in St Andrews are planning a World Day of Prayer Ecumenical Service for Friday 3rd March 2023 at 2PM. The service will be hosted by St Leonard’s Church. Hepburn Gardens/ Donaldsons Garden, St Andrews, KY16 9DNN. The service will be use prepared resource by the WDP Committee of Tiawan. There will be fellowship after the service over a cup of tea in the hall. All welcome, but please contact Paulus@standrewsbaptist.org.uk so they have the right numbers for catering!

Energy bill discount: Over the winter many of us will receive a discount from the government to our energy bills. Some of us will need this help, & should accept it gratefully. Others may be able to afford the increased bills. In order to support those in our community facing hardship this winter, the church leadership would like to encourage those who do not need the discount to donate this amount to the Hardship Fund. If you feel called to support this ministry then please make a designated offering by the Offering Box or bank transfer, or speak to Matt (treasurer@standrewsbaptist.org.uk). 

Prayers for February:

Today: Give thanks to the Lord for the privilege we have to gather freely to worship Him. Pray for the proclamation of the Good News, which is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes. Pray also for those confined in their homes & care homes who are now unable to gather in person with others for Sunday services that the Lord, who works in mysterious ways, may continue to minister to them too.

Monday: Give thanks for the Christian Union Events Week & pray for the Lord to continue His work in all those students who were exposed to the Gospel during those events & any follow up being undertaken.

Tuesday:Pray for the Lord’s ministry through our church home groups. Pray for a solid discipleship, true and meaningful fellowship as well as pastoral care to take place as the word of Christ dwell in us richly.

Wednesday: Pray for the Lent period (22 Feb – 6 April) that we may be drawn closer to the Lord as we follow Him, listening closely to His word & being obedient to do what He says.

Thursday: Pray for the Awake Retreat scheduled for Monday 27 Feb – Wednesday 1 March. Pray for many students to attend, for the speaker & the message and all those serving in providing meals & transport. Pray that the Lord be at work in all & through all.

Friday: Pray for the Lord’s ministry that takes place through Stitch & Blether. Pray for its leaders & all those who walk through the doors to have a blether.

Saturday: Pray for Young Life ministry, its leaders, volunteers & all that the Lord is going through this ministry. Pray also for all those who have come to the Lord through this ministry that Lord continue to work in their lives & protect them.

(It is possible you will be given a different Meeting ID by the person arranging the meeting. If so, use the Meeting ID number you are given).

The morning service starts at 10AM, in-person & online, & includes creche & Beacons Kids’ provision. The evening service starts at 6:30PM.
