NOTICES:
Transport Ministry: If you are struggling to get to church, or to healthcare appointments, email pastoralcare@standrewsbaptist.org.uk, and we will do our best to help.

Church Locks are being changed: For security reasons, on 1st October, the church door locks will be changed to electronic locks. Thereafter, if you need access to the church building you will need a PIN code or a key tag. Please contact your church ministry leader or Ken Cochran for more details. If you are a student ministry leader please contact Clayton Mills.

‘Hope for Tomorrow’s Generations’: Many of you have faithfully donated items to Mihai and Adrianna’s charity and shop within Modelu, Calarasi. Funds raised are used for local Christian outreach to children, teenagers, women, through bible teaching, clubs, equipping poor children to attend school, advocacy work and food support for the poor. Sadly, due to changed circumstances, Allyson is no longer able to commit to collecting, sorting, bagging and storing the many donations ready for shipment to Romania. Dry storage is a major part of all these processes. Please pray about how the church might continue this worthwhile partnership. If anyone would like to get in touch, hear about what’s involved, ‘brainstorm’ practical ideas, please contact Allyson McGregor on allyson_mcgregor@hotmail.com. Thank you.

St Mark’s Messy Church and St Andrews Churches Eco Network warmly invite everyone to their joint Harvest Thanksgiving worship in the stretch tent at St Andrews Botanic Garden, Sunday 24th September at 3pm. Please bring with you one piece of fruit or veg to lay on the Harvest table as an act of thanksgiving. They look forward to seeing you there and hope you enjoy the activities, worship and snacks as everyone meets together to celebrate God’s creation and provision.

Chalmers Learning Community is back with 2 courses starting soon. This is a great opportunity to gather with Christians from all walks of life who share a desire to learn and grow in order to be better equipped for discipleship and mission. The in-person St Andrews group will be considering Christian Spirituality through the Ages. We will be coming alongside Christians through history (from St Benedict to Calvin, Wesley to Bonhoffer and others) to learn from their faith and the practices that sustained them. The online Reading and Discussion Group will be considering Theological Anthropology – what does it mean to be human and how do humans flourish? More details can be found at www.chalmersinstitute.org/learning-community/

“For the beauty of the earth, for the beauty of the skies”: this is the season when we particularly give thanks for creation and all good things around us! To celebrate, the St Andrews Churches Eco Network (STACEN) invites you to send them your photos of nature in all its glory at this time of year! They can be snapshots taken on your phone of anything which has inspired you or lifted your spirit! Please email Lorna Hutcheon:  lhutcheon@sky.com with contributions which will then be posted anonymously onto our St Andrews Churches Eco Network Facebook page. Children’s contributions, or photos which children have helped with, are welcome to be sent via parents’ email, adding a caption and child’s age if you wish. They look forward to receiving your pictures and hope you enjoy getting out and about to take them!

PRAYER ITEMS FOR SEPTEMBER:
Sunday: Pray for Josh & Lindy from our church, as they reach out through disciple-making to the unreached people groups in Nepal.
Monday: Pray for the unreached in Nepal, and elsewhere in the world, for the Lord both to send out workers to them and to prepare the hearts of the unreached to receive the message that the Lord has given to His workers.
Tuesday: Pray for the Christian teachers in our schools; for patience, protection and wisdom in dealing with the various challenges they face daily as they carry out their work wholeheartedly.
Wednesday: Pray for the newly baptised, for their witness and your witness, where they/you are “scattered” each week.
Thursday: Pray for those who are suffering for the sake of “the Name of Jesus” (Acts 5:41).
