This Sunday:

10:00: “Christ preached: Lord of All” based on Acts 2:14-36; 10:34-38. Paul Grinyer will be preaching.

18:30: “Excited about God!”. This service will be led by Paulus de Jong.

Today: Rooted & Impact: youth groups are off this Sunday (16 October) for the school holidays. 

Tuesday: OMF Prayer Meeting: 10:30 at the Wray’s

Wednesday: Age Matters: 09:30 in the Fellowship Room

Prayer Meeting: 19:30 in the Fellowship Room

Thursday: Hope @ the Hub: 13:30 in the St David’s Centre.

Postgrad & Young adults: 18:30 at the Rowe’s.

Awake: 18:30–20:30. In homes this week. Be sure to ask your group leader where to goat the usual time!

Book Group: 20:00 at Jane Holmes’ house (& on Zoom—contact Judy Wray for the Zoom link). We will discuss “The Binding” by Bridget Collins.

Prayer Meeting:
09:00 on Zoom.

St Andrews Churches Eco Network – Walking Together: 10:12 catch the No.64 bus from old Madras, South Street out to Craigtoun. This gives enough time for coffee/toilets as wished before an 11am start to an informal walk along the end of the Pilgrim Way from Craigtoun Park into town. If you would like to come, please let Rosalind Hine so we know who to look out for at the bus stop.

Lina Toth presentation & interview: 16:00-18:00 in the Fellowship Room.

Next Sunday:

10:00: Title TBC (Mark 10:28-31). Lina Toth will be preaching. This service will include Communion, so if joining us online, please have your juice/wine and bread ready.

18:30: A joint worship evening with Cornerstone. Paulus de Jong & Jared Michelson will be leading this service.

Next week Lina Toth, Assistant Principal of the Scottish Baptist College, will be with us over the weekend. In addition to preaching on Sunday morning, we will host a presentation & interview on her latest book ‘Singleness and Marriage after Christendom’. This event will be on Saturday the 22nd of October 16:00-18:00 in the fellowship room in the Baptist Church. Please join us if you are able! 

Christian Education…What’s the point? Come & Ask questions & hear the Cowpland’s plans for a Melville-Knox Christian School in Fife. Saturday 29th October 2022, 14:00 in Holy Trinity Halls.

Micah Ministry: Tearfund Scotland’s Climate Champions Course: This looks a really good course & we’re keen to make the most of it. Whilst Tearfund has devised it as an online course for individuals, we’d like to use it Alpha-style, meeting in someone’s home over a meal at 18:15 & then joining the Zoom via the TV screen at 19:30. Session 1: Thursday 27th October, Theology of creation care & justice, with Dr Ruth Valerio, Tearfund Director, theologian & author. Session 2: Thursday 3rd November, What you can do within your church with Less Waste Laura, activist & blogger. Session 3: Thursday 10th November, How to get others in your church onboard, with Rev Ian Wills, Trinity Church of the Nazarene, Perth. If you are interested in joining in with this then do speak to Paulus or any member of the Micah team or email 

In preparation for the Annual Church Meeting on Wednesday 30th November please note the following Deacons are retiring: Ken Cochran, Janet Richardson, Chris Walker. The following Deacons are due for & eligible for re-election: Cameron Bathgate, Jacqueline Mercer. Recently Co-opted Deacons are also eligible for election: Steve Evans, Tony Jeavons. Please send any deacon nominations after seeking agreement from the candidate to Church Secretary by Sunday 13th November 2022. Nomination forms are available at the bottom of the main stair of the church.

Also, please note that the following Elders are due and eligible for re-nomination by the elders & re-election by the church. Tamara Knudson, David Moffitt, Tricia Tooman.

Energy bill discount: Over the winter many of us will receive a discount from the government to our energy bills. Some of us will need this help, & should accept it gratefully. Others may be able to afford the increased bills. In order to support those in our community facing hardship this winter, the church leadership would like to encourage those who do not need the discount to donate this amount to the Hardship Fund. If you feel called to support this ministry then please make a designated offering by the Offering Box or bank transfer, or speak to the Matt ( 

Prayers for the week:

Today: Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures for ever.

Monday: Today pray for Janet & family as they hold the funeral & thanksgiving service of Janet’s step-mother. Pray for the LORD’s consolation for them & for all those who are grieving the loss of loved one(s).

Tuesday:Give thanks to the LORD for what we heard from Him through his servants Paul & Paulus as they spoke on Sunday at our services.

Wednesday: Pray for Peter & Hilary & family for their missionary work that the LORD continue to bless them & provide to all their needs.

Thursday:Pray for the various ministries & outreach opportunities lined up to Christmas including the Alpha course taking place that the LORD will continue to touch people’s heart, bringing them into His Kingdom & renew the spiritual life of many.

Friday: Pray for the children of our church that the LORD grant them good heath both physically & spiritually as they are being nurtured in their faith.

Saturday: Pray for those who are directly & indirectly affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine. Pray also for the war to stop & peace to resume.

To join in church services & prayer meetings by telephone: Dial 0131 460 1196. When prompted for your Meeting ID, enter 726 034 6887 followed by the # key. You will be prompted for a Participant ID; just enter the # key again. When prompted for a password enter 777 followed by the # hash key. You will be connected to the meeting / service. (It is possible you will be given a different Meeting ID by the person arranging the meeting. If so, use the Meeting ID number you are given).

To join in online with video: Go to & follow the instructions given to join Zoom & download the APP(lication).

The morning service starts at 10:00AM, in-person & online, & includes creche & Beacons Kids’ provision. The evening service starts at 6:30PM.
