Helping fund ‘Schoolbags’, a one-year holistic support of a child in poverty into education: Mihai & Adriana’s charity ‘Hope for Tomorrow’s Generation’, in Romania, reaches out to the marginalised poor in specific ways, one being a ‘Schoolbags’ project. State education is free but equipping a child is not, so poor families need support to send their children. ‘Schoolbags’ enables a child to be given everything needed to feel accepted and avoid bullying: clothes, shoes, good nutrition, books, pencils and encouragement to keep attending. Please pick up an extended information sheet from various places in the church and /or contact Allyson McGregor. Any donation will be very much appreciated, by envelope or direct to church, marked ‘Schoolbags’. On behalf of Mihai & Adriana, thank you.
Chalmers Learning Community, 2024-2025: There will be 3 courses running this academic year:

PRAYER ITEMS FOR SEPTEMBER:
Sunday: Give thanks to God for the privilege to worship Him freely and openly in this country. Pray for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit, that our services may be times of encounter with the Living God.
Monday: Pray for the returning students, and those who are starting university, to settle in and find a church family where they feel they belong and to be nurtured spiritually.
Tuesday: Pray for our mission partners including our sister church in Alexandria, Romania. Pray that they may continue to be a blessing and encouragement to those to whom they are ministering.
Wednesday: Pray for people who do not yet know the Lord Jesus Christ, to have a personal encounter with him.
Thursday: Pray for peace in the middle east and in countries and communities torn by war, conflict and division. Pray for the healing of those affected and traumatised in our own nation during the last riots and protests.
Friday: Pray for the comfort, healing and strength of those who are grieving, either the loss of a loved one, a home, a community that they have known, or dignity.
Saturday: Pray for the life and mission of our church as we envision the future, with everyone in the church becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ who makes other disciples, as we embrace the vision of planting micro-churches in surrounding towns and villages.
