Come for one round or the other and pizza, or stay for both!
The tech team is looking for volunteers to help out with Sunday morning and evening services. Training is given, and prior experience with audio/visual or live streaming work is not required. This ministry is a wonderful way to serve our church while still being able to be present in the services themselves! Please speak to Clayton or contact tech@standrewsbaptist.org.uk.
Rice challenge: On Sunday 15 March we will be selling Fair trade Kilombero rice after the service. Each packet costs £2 and that money goes to support farmers in Malawi; the amount from a whole sack of rice will educate one child in secondary school for one year. So please come ready to buy! You can use the card reader or pay in cash – either way you are supporting very poor children in Africa, and the rice is delicious.
The Special Offering next week, during the morning Communion service, will be for Young Life. Their mission: “Life to the full. We believe in young people and share the hope-filled message of Jesus with them”.
Next Sunday (22 March) is also our QCM after the morning service. Papers have been sent out by email and are available in the church.
Safeguarding training advance notice: Saturday 28 March 2026, 10am-12pm in SABC. If you volunteer for: Tots+, Creche, Beacon Kids, Hot Chocolate, Rooted or Pastoral Care we would encourage you to attend our training each year but remind you that it is mandatory to attend at least every 2 years. A creche will be provided. For further info, please contact Philippa Cook, and please register your intention to attend by emailing: safeguarding@standrewsbaptist.org.uk
Lent evening services (beginning 15 February): we plan to embark on the season of Lent by walking with Jesus into the wilderness, and introducing the Desert Fathers and Mothers, our companions on this journey. Together we will fix our eyes on Jesus, so that we might approach Easter with a heart of prayerful pursuit. We are grateful for material, discussion questions and videos from Lectio 365 (24-7 prayer). Please do join us!
The Whitley Lecture 2026 with Rev Dr Paulus de Jong. 19 March, 5:30-7:00pm. Reconciliation – “From Estrangement to Embrace: Scriptural Storylines and the Gospel’s Vision of Reconciliation”. In this lecture, Rev Dr Paulus de Jong will consider three particular Gospel narratives to consider the topic of interpersonal reconciliation. The event will be held onsite in Paisley Baptist Church and livestreamed online. The event is free but booking is required via Eventbrite. Details on the Scottish Baptist College website.

Sunday: Giving thanks for the power of the Gospel. Thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ that all over the world the gospel of Jesus Christ is bearing fruit and growing.
Monday: Praying for the growth of the church in our town, its surrounding areas, and in our nation. Pray for a growing passion for Jesus that the church be not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation of everyone who believes.
Tuesday: Praying for the impact of the global church. Pray for this impact to be seen in big and small churches; in church in the cities and church in rural areas, in the most affluent places as well as in the most deprived places, and in all places and mostly in war/conflict-torn places.
Wednesday: Praying for the persecuted global church. Pray for the victory of the Lord Jesus in Muslim majority countries.
Thursday: Praying for hope for the global church. Pray that the name of Jesus Christ be lifted up as the sole living hope in a hopeless and helpless world.
Friday: Praying for Biblical faithfulness within the global church. Pray for the church to remain faithful in proclaiming what people need to hear and not what they want to hear.
Saturday: Praying for the Gospel-centred global church. Pray that the gospel be spoken and lived out all over the world, and that the Lord will raise up more and more true evangelists.
