Our church vision focus for 2024 is ‘Growing in and by the word of God’. A further help that some may not be aware of is a series of weekly questions from the Sunday morning sermon. Some of the home groups use these in their gatherings. If you would find this a helpful resource for your personal study please contact Angus at and he will add your name to the list of recipients.

We have an opportunity this summer of partnering with Mihai in Romania and our friends at ISF (International Sports Federation) to help run a children’s multi-sport camp, with opportunities for bible teaching. We anticipate there being between 100-125 children from Calarasi. The dates are 22nd-30th June. No specific sporting skills are required just enthusiasm and a desire to introduce children to Jesus. If you are interested in helping, please contact Peter & Philippa Cook in person or via email.

Message from the Micah team: Have you heard about The Big Plastic Count? This initiative is organised by Greenpeace and Everyday Plastic. For one week in March – 11-17 March 2024 – thousands of schools, households, community groups and businesses will come together to count their plastic waste. As part of our own creation care, we would like St Andrews Baptist Church to join them.

In 2022, almost a quarter of a million people took part, revealing that almost two billion pieces of plastic packaging are being thrown away a week. The purpose is to build evidence to convince UK ministers to lead the way at global talks that could finally phase out plastic pollution for good. So far, this year, over 67,000 people in the UK have registered to take part.

If you’re interested please visit the website and find out more. You can also register there.

St Andrews Churches Eco Network invite you to help plant a native species hedgerow at the Western Cemetery: Sunday March 17th from 2pm For further details and to let us know you are coming, please either email or speak to Rosalind Hine – we need to be able to contact you in the event that poor weather dictates a postponement of the event. It would be great to see you there!

Families First Spring Coffee Morning: 10am-12 noon on Saturday 16th March 2024 in the Fellowship Room. Entry adults £2, Children £1, including tea/coffee and cake. Raffle, bake sale and stalls. All welcome! All donations can be brought to the Fellowship room from 8am on Saturday of the coffee morning or dropped off at my house (3 St Mary Street) from 5pm on the Friday before.

Sunday: Give thanks to God for His goodness and faithfulness over the last months. Pray for His sufficient grace and guidance each day that comes before us.

Monday: Pray for hunger for God’s word and that it may dwell richly in our hearts as we listen to it, meditate on it and apply it.

Tuesday: Pray for open doors and guidance as we seek to implement our church vision for reaching out the neighbouring towns and villages.

Wednesday: Pray for all the events around Easter and the Easter day itself that as people of hope we may be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks us to give the reason for the hope we have in Christ.

Thursday: Pray for folks living in care homes, for their families, carers, and staff. Pray for the continued Christian witness towards them. Also, pray for strength for those who are becoming frail among us.
