Members

Being a member of St Andrews Baptist Church is a statement of being called to be part of God’s family as expressed in His local church. Membership in a church is not like membership in a social club or other organizations.

Most organisation members are consumers; the organisation exists to serve them. Christ’s church is a completely different community – membership means ministry and service, going from being a consumer to becoming a servant of God’s love and care to others. At St Andrews Baptist, we take seriously that we are a church not for ourselves, but for others. If this sounds like God’s calling for your life, read on…

The membership, meeting together is where we aim to discern the will of God for the church and its activities. As with any family, membership in the church family brings with it privileges and responsibilities. Members have the right to be consulted on important decisions of the church, and have a binding say in these decisions in the building of consensus and voting at the Church Meeting. By joining the Church, members are expected to work with the Church in the pursuit of its ministry.

All Christians are in full time service of God and ministers of His grace to a lost world. As church members, we commit to encourage and serve one another in our common calling, and to support the ministries of the church with our time and resources. Membership of the Church is open to those who profess faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord.

Full details of membership are given in the Church Constitution which will be discussed with prospective members during the application process. To enquire about membership please contact one of the Pastors or an Elder.
