Andrew Rollinson

Pastor Andrew Rollinson and his wife Janet are originally from Yorkshire, Andrew from York, Janet from Hull, coming to Scotland in 1985. They have two grown up children.

Andrew spent a gap year in Uganda and, after studying zoology at Oxford, worked in rural evangelism and then trained for Baptist Ministry at Spurgeon’s College London.

After working in a large Southern Baptist Church in Dallas as ‘British Intern’ Andrew was called to Westgate Road Baptist Church, Newcastle-upon-Tyne where he served as Pastor for 13 years. Andrew was then called as Pastor of Morningside Baptist Church, Edinburgh (1995 -2003) and then served as the Ministry Advisor for the Baptist Union of Scotland based in Glasgow.

“We count it an enormous privilege to be called by God to St Andrews Baptist Church and very much look forward to travelling a journey of faith with the congregation.” said Andrew. He adds that he knows almost nothing about golf, has a better swing when it comes to fly fishing and is glad the walking terrain is a lot flatter than in the West.

Al Cuthbert

Alistair (also known as ‘Al’) is SABC’s Pastor of Family and Community Life. He is married to Lynsey, his wife since 1997, and together they are bringing up 4 young children: one boy (Nathan) and three girls (Amaris, Rebekah, & Hannah). He started the post at SABC in August 2013.

Alistair has over 11 years in full-time Christian ministry. Before coming to SABC he was the pastor of family life at Stirling Baptist Church. Prior to that he was a missionary with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) involved in missions and Bible teaching in many diverse nations across Asia and Africa.

Alistair is also a qualified PE teacher (yes, he does have a sadistic side) and spent 6 years teaching physical education in Scottish schools and a further education college.

An ordained Baptist minister, he has trained for ministry, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, at institutions in both the UK and USA. He is currently studying for an M.Litt at St Andrews University whilst working part-time with the church.

To relax, Alistair enjoys family outings, going to the gym, listening to heavy metal (Demonhunter rule!), motorcycling, and reading books.

His desires, passions and foci for the job of Family and Community Life Pastor are to support and help families grow in their walk with God, support children and young people developing their own faith in the Lord Jesus, and reach out to families in St Andrews and surrounding villages in order to introduce them into a dynamic faith in Jesus Christ.
